Why Everyone (Almost) Can Go Ziplining

Stepping out of your comfort zone is both fun and important! We all know the old adage that, “if you’re not busy living, you’re dying”, and it’s a little cheesy but also super true! So what is one thing you would do right now to get out of your comfort zone and push your boundaries? Well, maybe what you need to get out of your comfort zone is a day of Tennessee ziplining on the Ocoee River!

Well, we’re here to tell you that everyone (almost) can go ziplining! There are probably more places around the country to go than you might think, it’s probably safer than you might think, and as long as you enjoy having fun – you’re sure to love it! So, strap in, grab some popcorn, and take a gander at all of the reasons as to why everyone (almost) can go ziplining!

Location

Yes, ziplining is ultra-popular in touristy destinations like Costa Rica and Hawaii, but chances are that there is a place right in your own backyard where you can get out and do a little ziplining! So, where are these places?

Ocoee Zipz

We don’t have any shame plugging ourselves here, because we think we have the best ziplines in Tennessee if not the Southeast! After all, we’re just a short drive from Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Atlanta, Athens, and Birmingham just to name a few! Not only were we the 1st zipline in Tennessee, but we’re also the best! We have 7 zip courses and over 6,000 feet of high-flying action over 40 acres of the most stunning venues in Tennessee! Take a flying tour through the Land of Oz with us with the Cowardly Lion, Dorothy, Toto, Tin Man, Scarecrow, The Wicked Witch of the West, and The Wizard! After your day of zipping you can even hop over to Ocoee Outdoors for a half day of whitewater rafting fun!

Glacier Highline

For those on the western half of the United States, consider heading up to Glacier National Park in Northwest Montana to check out the Glacier Highline ziplines! Glacier National Park is one of the most beautiful parks in the country with jagged peaks, rolling forest, and all the wildlife you would want to see (from a distance). If you make it out this way, be sure to get a day of ziplining in with Glacier Highline!

Captain Zipline

For all you Colorado adventurers, Captain Zipline is the place to go! You’ll soar 100-200 feet above the canyon floor. The short hikes between lines give you the opportunity to marvel at the 300 million-year-old colorful rocky cliffs and learn about the area’s rich past. Look down at the 1890 lime kiln ruins and abandoned silver mine shaft, or learn about the mining and Wild West history of the area! Some of the highlights at Captain Zipline include a bonsai tree growing out of solid rock and the highest point of the tour 500 feet above the whitewater of the Arkansas River. Of course, we’re in the Colorado Rocky Mountain high country with spectacular views of 14,000 ft. mountain peaks from the zipline platforms.

Safe

One of the biggest things that keep people from Ziplining is their fear of heights!! We’re not trying to say that the fear of heights is irrational by any means, but we just want you to know that we take all of the necessary safety precautions to guarantee your absolute safety! From the cables to the helmets, harnesses, and carabiners, everything is double and triple checked. Let us worry about the safety and you just focus on all of the fun of ziplining!

It’s Fun!

As long as you love having fun, you are going to love ziplining! As mentioned above, we take all of the necessary safety precautions so all you have to worry about is having fun, which is the (second) most important thing about ziplining!

Sure, it can be a little scary, but it’s also an amazing high-flying adventure! You would probably be relieved to hear that most people are scared for their first time ziplining, and by the end, they are having the time of their life. We would agree with you that, similar to flying in an airplane, it’s not really a natural thing, but you still trust your pilot, right? Well, that’s all you have to do here as well! Just trust your guide (your pilot) to take you for a safe flight and get you back on the ground.

Remaining in your comfort zone is the easy thing, but getting out of your comfort zone is where the real growth in your life comes from. So, join us for an Ocoee zipline adventure, take the step, and do a little flying!

Weight & Age Restrictions

We have restrictions on weight that we must follow to ensure the safety of our guests and guides. 250. That is the magic number for our lines. As for the age limit, you just have to be 6 or older!

With all of this in mind, the limitations of zip lining are so few that almost anyone can partake in this activity. So what’s stopping you from coming out and joining us on the lines? We’d love to send you flying into something new! Hopefully, this article showed you that you are one who most likely can go ziplining. Whether you live in the southeast or the northwest, and whether you’re an adrenaline junkie or are afraid of heights, we highly recommend giving ziplining a try!
